This brews up great tasting coffee, better than the traditional coffee makers. I only gave a low rating because of cleaning the pot itself, where it directed to just wipe it out. I didn't think it was a good way of cleaning it but I made my way around it by carefully soaping it out with a dish wand being careful not to soak out the bottom unit. I'm very happy with it though! The main point is a great tasting cup of coffee!

Reading the instructions it refers to 110V, the voltage spec on the bottom of the pot is also 110V. It does work on 220, in fact it is really fast. You have to lift the coffee basket and tube out post brew to keep the coffee hot. If you do not it will continue perking at a slower rate, probably because of the voltage.

We had always used Electric Percolators and when our Presto 12-cup stainless bit the dust I decided to switch to a fancy copper JC Penney Cooks Drip-style that matched my kitchen. BIG MISTAKE! It may have looked beautiful, but posing on my kitchen counter was all it was good for. It leaked when the carafe spring-loaded button got stuck. Although it bragged a pause and serve feature I was the only one pausing--in horror, when it "served" my coffee all over the counter and floor. And the coffee itself went from mildly hot to cold in less than an hour. It never brewed nice and hot. Perhaps these coffeemakers are on the list of items intended to protect us from ourselves but I like coffee that stays hot longer than 1 hour. It was a pip to clean. Although all the parts were removable those plastic innards always looked as if they were harboring something questionable. As for the brewing, my sons starting referring to the coffee as "waffey" because it tasted more like water than coffee. The Drip coffeemaker never seemed to perk all the way. No guests ever asked for a second cup.I purchased the Cruisart in an effort to capture my youth. Or at least that part of it that was coffee related. Also I knew Cuisinart as a reliable brand name. Now I have a beautiful looking Perk pot (although I still wish it had a copper shell, (appliance designers are you listening?)but the stainless steel interior is easy to clean and keep free of oils. Our coffee is now HOT,AND FLAVORFUL, and my family no longer finds me in front of the sink first thing in the morning muttering and mopping up what the coffeemaker piddled out. The Cuisinart features more heavy-duty cord than other Percolaters I have owned, a red "ready" light that signals when the brewing is complete, and a generous handle so a man can pour a cup with out getting his fingers lodged. It also has a see-through glass top so you can hear and watch your coffee perk if that sort of self-hypnotising sound soothes you. The extra wide base makes it not only stylish but extra safe from tip overs. It is good-looking enough to bring to the table. I would recommend this coffeepot to anyone who has experienced any of the above with their current Drip-system. Although Presto and Farberware are both equally good as far as producing a good cuppa (and I have owned both those brands), I would say the Cuisinart is a little more substantial in style and design.Read full review
We're old school and the percolator is better than any auto drip coffee makers. This purchase is just a replacement for our old unit which gave up the ghost after about 20 years.

Great coffee pot that brings me back to my childhood of how coffee should be made and should taste!! It allows me to make a little or a lot and the brewing time is the same. Easy to clean and not heavy like they were 40-50 years ago. I really love the design, especially seeing the coffee perk! I am happy with the purchase and the product.

I haven't been able to use the product as yet. First I have had to buy an adapter as the plug doesn't fit into an Austrialian socket but now I apparently have a problem with voltage, in Australia we have 240v but the product needs to plug into 120v and have been told I need a converter, so not happy at the moment.

Another quality product from Cuisinart. This percolator is fully automatic. In just a few minutes you have fresh perked coffee that permeates throughout the house! The only drawback is it requires coarse-ground coffee... however, I use the small round basket filters, make a small tear in the center bottom then slide it down the center of basket and use regular drip coffee! This makes for easy cleanup too. This percolator keeps coffee hot and delicious.
Have owned in the past 3 years the perfect cuisinart percolater until my recent purchase of a new one that had problems! Cover impossible to remove easily, plug defective, releases from pot unexpectedly,
