Cult classic used in numerous songs. Wierd movie to say the least. First saw it when erols movie rental came on the scene. Been loking for this DVD for a long time, first at various stores and pawn shops. Then after beeing on e bay for a while I remmebered it, and whith no further waiting it was part of my collection. Based in New York City, A couple is at the mercy of aliens who feed on the eurphoric chemicals produced by heroin and the natural endorphins produced during orgasim. Filled with then new sound abilitys of the synthesiser and corney bar sceens and outragous plot this movie is sure to entertain.
I saw this film during its initial run in a New York theatre. Back then a film with such strange subject matter and characters was a rare thing, and I've always been a fan of offbeat cinema. Watching it again in 2017, I don't think it's aged well: the frequent violence (particularly rape) and relentless vulgarity are wearying, and what social commentary it contains has long lost its relevance. But if you're a seeker of the outlandish, you may find it worth a watch.

By SciFi standards, Liquid Sky is an excellent, independent flick. The premise is utterly silly: an alien traverses the galaxy seeking human endo-opiates. The alien can build a hyperdrive into a dinner plate, but can not perform simple chemical synthesis. Instead, the alien uses glass arrows to extract the desired substances from human heads precisely at the moment of orgasm. The main character is an aspiring model/actress and occasional necrophiliac, who establishes an unusual kind of raport with the alien. Very 80s. Very indy.
DVD release of the classic Sci-fi cult film "Liquid Sky". Nice to see it again after several years but a bit dissapointed to notice that it looked very grainy and lacked the digital sharpness and detail. I have been a movie finatic and collector for decades. I have seen an abundence of video and digital transfers and this was certinly a VHS to DVD transfer not taken from the original film source. Probably unauthorized! Which is probably why there was no booklet to accompany it. All that aside it was resonably priced, in perfect condition and delivered quickly. Thank you.
