Pretty good for a refurbished chair

The chair is your pretty standard steel case leap v2 chair, which is super comfortable, ergonomic, and adjustable for your needs. This specific refurbished chair though has new padding on the back/seat, which is definitely not as good or as comfortable as the original steelcase chair, and different material being used for the armrests — which is also doesn’t feel as good/strong as the original. Also, important note!!! When putting the gas cylinder into the base & the seat — make sure to line up the yellow arrows!! I didn’t at first and wasn’t able to adjust the seat height. Removing the gas cylinder is a huge pain and extremely difficult. There’s a note that comes with the chair which I totally ignored, which I wish I read. Still a very good deal on a platinum steelcase leap v2. ...

    Not Great, Just Ok

For those who aren't familiar with it, this is a refurbished/reupholstered Steelcase Leap chair. The chair looks nice enough, but despite its numerous adjustments, I can't find a position for it that's truly comfortable. The seat has a slight forward tilt to it that I can't get rid of (the lip adjustment on the front of the seat doesn't change the overall angle). The upholstery on the seat also feels a little uneven, and in fact looks uneven if you look at the chair carefully from the front. I bought this chair to replace a wooden kitchen chair that I had been using at the desk in my office. Compared to that, this chair is a great improvement. What's not great is the value for money equation. If I had bought this chair for $100 I would have said it's not perfect, but it'll do fine ...

  • Not New - But Worth it for the Price

The packaging was somewhat lackluster, everything was bubble wrapped, but thrown into a very large box. Lots of empty space caused some serious damage to the box during shipment. Luckily, the contents were all fine. The seat, back, and armrests were preassembled together, while the base/wheels and then the gas cylinder were wrapped separately. The gas cylinder was heavily bubble wrap (probably because it could do some serious damage while being shaken around otherwise. There were some minor cosmetic imperfections. Some scratches and smudges on the text on some parts of the chair. The fabric seems to be in relatively new condition. I do already notice the fabric of the backrest does not stay taut after getting up. All knobs/levers work perfectly though. Overall, if you want a brand new in ...

  • Ultra comfortable chair

Had this chair at work and always wanted one for home but they are quite pricey. I do miss the full back of my old executive chair, but the various feature of the Leap overall are just so much better. Especially the tilt mechanism.

  • Yes. Chairs are refurbished. What did you expect for 1/5 of the price?

Don't think that you're going to order a $900 chair for less than $250 and it won't be refurbished. Speaking from experience, we have these Leap chairs at work, which is why I ordered one. I've been using the leap for more than 10 years (maybe longer) so I am an EXPERT on comparison. I suspected that the chair was not just "open box", but more of a "used and refurbished". The chair arrived to me quickly - 2 Days. My understanding is that if they aren't stocked, it can take a while for them to get the lots of chairs they use and refurb. Most of these discount office chairs are coming from the same building in Elizabethtown NJ. Not sure why...and results with who you deal with may vary. So, the chair arrived in 3 pieces. Bottom /w casters, gas cylinder, top. No tools required to stick ...
