I have had one of these for about 4 or 5 years now. I use it all the time for fairly light work in a saddle shop and have also completely remodeled a home with this being my only drill. It has plenty of power to run spade bits and hole saws. I don’t know how many times it’s been left outside laying in the dirt and rain or snow, but so far none of that abuse has killed it. Occasionally the chuck will loosen and drop the bit, which is annoying but not really a big deal, and that only happens coming to a hard stop in reverse. One of the two batteries is starting to get so it doesn’t last all that long, but like I said, this drill hasn’t had an easy life. I’m probably going to get another one pretty soon, I don’t think this one will last forever, but I’m not considering any other brand or model than this one. I’ll probably get the combo that comes with this drill and the hammer driver. Considering how much cheaper this one is than some of the others I don’t see any reason to go with anything else. I also think it’s a little lighter than dewalt. Unless I just got lucky on this one I’m not switching drill brands.Read full review

I mainly bought this to use with my garden auger (2 foot drill bit). Very powerful as I can just drill right through clay, roots, whatever. Excellent battery life also. Lasted a full two days of hard work before i had to charge.

I am the previous owner of several low priced electric/battery powered drills. I purchased this Porter Cable drill as I had used Porter Cable tools in the past and they have always out performed my own tools. It is far superior to anything I have owned before. I would recommend Porter Cable tools to anyone without hesitation.

Haven't owned the product for more than a month yet so it's early to evaluate its quality, but so far, what a great drill! The design is cool, strong battery life, pretty torque-y, and the weight is not bad at all!

I am an older widow and sometimes need to do my own repairs. The drill is just the right size and weight for me and does a fine job.
