You will need to purchase six AA batteries for the blue light effect. I find myself taking showers with no lights at all, but rather using the blue lighting. installation was a bit of task because there’s only about 4 inches of room to manage the hot and cold connections and you need to raise the unit up 1.25” and then drop it down in place to secure. Well worth the price in my opinion
