After opening the top of the box and tucking the torn side back under, I took the bag out and pressed on it several times to make sure that the bag wasn't also perforated - which great news it wasn't so a close shave! I just swapped the bag to the another empty box of cereal I was about to throw recycle, which I guess I did Thank you :)
