Very High-Quality 4G Hub for any GSM Network.
This is a combination 4G modem and WiFi hub. I am using it on the TMobile network. It was very easy to set-up, without even looking at the manual. There are cheaper devices available on the Web (mostly from China) but they don't have the quality of this one. And five (count them) antennas! It is usable from all sides of my large, house-like, apartment. I am planning to use it mostly for travel but occasionally I do use 4G internet at home. (I don't have a wired connection and I use an Xfinity WiFi hub that periodically goes down.)This is a combination 4G modem and WiFi hub. I am using it on the TMobile network. A VERY GOOD FIND ON EBAY AT A GOOD VALUE PRICE.
This is so much better than the new ZTE MF279 that was made for ATT. I purchased the new ATT model when it came out and was very disappointed there was no way to disable the WIFI. I wanted to disable the WIFI and use with a Linksys WRT3200 router. The ZTE MF288 allows disabling wifi and using with another router for extended range and more router functions. The MF 288 unlocked works with any GSM North American Network and works very well on ATT.This is so much better than the new ZTE MF279 that was made for ATT. I purchased the new ATT model when it came out and was very disappointed there was no way to disable the WIFI. I wanted to disable the WIFI and use with a Linksys WRT3200 router. Awesome 4g Router for AT&T. I would tell anyone to buy it while you can!!
This 4g router works AWESOME! I use AT&T & I had a Netgear hot spot & ASUS router for my homes WiFi & replaced both with this router. I was used to getting around 30mbps download & 3mbps upload with my old router, with this new ZTE, I am getting around 50mbps & 8mbps upload! It has literally almost doubled the speed of our home internet. My son can now play games online & we can still stream 4k shows to our TV, at the same time!! I have actually already purchased a second one of these routers...that is how impressed I am with them! The WIFI works as good if not better than my $200 Asus router! It even has a rechargeable battery in it and if we loose power, we will still have internet on our phones, tablets, laptops & anything else not plugged into our house... that is awesome! This device rocks! You can build your own let router, but this is plug and play and I purchased mine for a little more than a LTE modem. The reception is great, the router works great for my needs. The built in battery helps a lot and is great for portability. Supposedly it can last for eight hours on a full charge. It looks great and feels of quality. I wish it had more settings in the UI, but it has enough for a basic user to configure. LTE speeds are 30% faster than my phone. I haven’t used it in a less congested area yet to see the peak speeds yet. But this will definitely suffice for when I’m out in my camper and such. The phone functions as advertised, I literally just plugged it in. I used one of my spare cell sims that has hotspot capability. This will see the data transferred as ... This device rocks! I was not sure if this product was going to work - to enable my laptop to connect to the internet via a 4G connection - but it did. The manual translation from the original Romulan (kidding!) was a little choppy, but I was able to connect pretty easily. The external antenna connector turned out not to be needed, but IF the signal strength in your area is weak, you can get a direction Yagi or log-periodic antenna to get usable bandwidth, not an option with smaller hotspots.I was not sure if this product was going to work - to enable my laptop to connect to the internet via a 4G connection - but it did.
