L.A. Rush celebrates California car culture, by highlighting popular, real-life vehicles of the muscle, tuner, and exotic scenes. Backed by West Coast Customs and Rides Magazine, the game features exclusive, "pimped out" autos seen on television and tours. It also encourages virtual racers to express themselves, by customizing their own cars with a selection of modifications and accessories. A story mode has players stealing back 30 custom cars that were taken from their garage, and regaining "street cred" by roughing up the guilty parties in "Retribution" racing missions. A split-screen head-to-head mode lets two players race against one another on tracks unlocked in the story mode.

Good not great, for some and not others
L.A. Rush has one of the best selections of cars I've ever seen in a game, with a '66 GTO, '69 Charger (two of my favorites), numerous Cadillacs and Impalas, a Camaro, and a whole collection of truly awesome fantasy concept cars. The game world is expansive, and you can drive all the way across it and back without any loading screens. On the downside, however, is the general simplicity and repetitiveness of the races themselves. Personally, I enjoyed the large, detailed game world that takes place in areas I'm familiar with, but I don't know how much that'll be worth to everyone. Furthermore, if you're looking for a game that lets you go wild with customization, this is not it. Cars are either stock or you can take them to West Coast Customs (of MTV Pimp my ride fame) and get them ... L.A. WARNING: this game WILL NOT work on Xbox 360 (even with update/patch thing from Xbox Live), only works on original Xbox.

My daughter gets the L.A. Rush!
I've never played the game! I got this game for my daughter. We had the "teaser" from the XBox Magazine. She loves it! Being 8 I was surprised that she took to the game. She really like driving off the beaten path and trashing the country side! This game will keep her entertained for hours on end! Not much I don't like about. I just have to try it myself if she would just turn loose of the controllers!I've never played the game! I got this game for my daughter. We had the "teaser" from the XBox Magazine. She loves it! Could have been a heck of alot better
I admit it I did have some big expectations of this game when it came out, but sadly I was crushed. There was not really an interesting story line to the game, the graphics where not too bad, but could not make up for how easy it was to beat. I would say this racing game is for the beginners, anybody else just may want to pass it by and look for something a little more interesting.
