Serving as a follow-up to the 1999 PlayStation RPG Legend of Legaia, Legaia 2: Duel Saga was nearly not released in the United States. Luckily for fans of the series, the title has come stateside nearly a year after its release in Japan. Maintaining the popular fighting system that set the original apart (menu-based combat is set aside for more action-orientated controls) keeps the familiarity of the series, but the scope of the environments and story has been expanded.<br><br>Players enter the world as Lang, a member of the local militia serving to protect the town, who leaves to track down a thief who stole the towns magical water source. Along the way he will make friends, enemies, and discover the meaning behind the mysterious solar eclipse that has put the world in eternal night. Fans of the original will enjoy this reintroduction and newcomers will likely be intrigued by the innovative combat system.

    So far it is being better than I remembered!... Played it some years ago but didn't finish it, so this is my second attempt on trying it...

    Already finished the first game from PSX which for me was one of the great classics ever made, Legend of Legaia (1), and this game was one of the few RPGs which I actually finished more than once, so it really counts... But about Legaia 2, compelling story and storytelling, it makes you wish to learn more about the story, characters and also about the many different moves and skills the game offers the characters to develop... Kinda believe some of the dialogues are a little juvenile or childish at times though, or just plain 'cheesy' at other times... Still great game though... Sometimes the fights are a little sicking, exhaustive and repetitive, but RPG matters for ya, get used to it if you like RPGs!... In Legaia 2 it feels kind of exaggerated though, the amount of battles we fight, the ...

    Legend of Legaia 2 Duel Saga

    I like the game cause its like the first LoL game, it has the very unique battle style no other game can have. It also has a very good storyline. I think the 2 bad sides are that you cant fight outside of a dungeon, like a field. And the game is very short for being so cool. the first LoL kept me playing for about a week non-stop, this one is kinda fast, i beat it in a day. Anyway if you got the first Legend of Legaia ide recomend you buy this one also.

    Legaia 2 review

    Like the first game Legend of Legaia Vahn and his friends have to stand up against the forces of evil. The graphics are tremendous and better than the first game and the fights are more realistic. This game is excellent for children and great for eye-to-hand corrodination. I love this game and all of the new people. I like the mystery like atmosphere. The only thing that I would have enjoyed more would be the music. The music is nice and is the same as the first game, I do think that the music could have had a different tune. But all in all, not all games are perfect. This game gets and EXCELLENT rating from this Legaia player. There need to be more games like this on the market. Thanks for making this game and thanks for allowing me to write this review. ENJOY!

    A solid RPG addition to any RPG fan or collector

    Even for those who haven't played the original Legend of Legaia for PS1, Legaia 2: Duel Saga is a ton of fun. With updated graphics, Legaia's interesting combat system and an interesting story line, Legaia 2 is a solid addition to any RPG collection. I consider Legaia 2 a good sequel, with many popular returning mechanics and many good added ones. For example, combining "arts" with other members of your party has been improved and is still fun to discover new ones. Admittedly, the story line is a bit redundant for RPG fans (mysterious people, mysterious symbols, mysterious antagonist, destroy the world, etc) but still has some fresh twists and turns. I personally enjoy the characters. I'm a big fan of stubborn old men as playable characters. I played this as a college student and ...
