I found this movie to be a "hooker" - I wasn't sure if I would like it but it did pull me in. Diane Keaton of course is great in most anything she embarks upon and I thought she stepped inside the role of the despondent mother and her "metomorphisis" very well. Her daughter's closest of friends were interesting and I thought very well acted, especially the best friend of Sara's (her daughter), who just happens to be gay and one of the main characters played perfectly by Tom Everett Scott. This play took me on a ride of emotions - quickly yet fun, and it was an enjoyable escape..and just one more accolade for Miss Keaton. I might even watch it again sometime. Brought Back Alot
I wasn't too sure about seeing this one...This movie is about a young beautiful Woman Sarah who as a child loved "The Wizard Of Oz" she's fun loving keeps secrets from her Mother ie: a diary..she has a select few Friends who spends alot of time with..her bestfriend is Adam a openly gay Man who she shares her deepest secrets with..his lover who he excludes while including Sarah..Sarahs best Friend and her Hubby...their secret is a good one..all is good or at least her Mother (Diane Keaton) thinks so..until one fateful night and a horrible car accident leaves Sarah dead and everyone devastated..Diane Keaton played the grieving Mother very well.. I should know..my Best friend of 14 years (we were both 21 at the time) was killed in a car accident..I saw the grief her Mother went through..so I ... Touching movie.
Amazaing movie, Diane Keaton was amazing as always. Really hit home for me. Came across this movie by accident, and I am glad I did, would recommend this to anyone. It was more then I expected, and has some amazing talent! Chris Pine is also amazing in this movie, he to be seen in the new Star Trek movie.
