    Hi It's been quite a while since I have had the Model Train bug. I was looking for a reference book that would get me started back into the hobby. Since times have changed. The trains that I grew up with, may or may not be compatible with current equipment, track, transformers, and other electrical accessories. This magazine contains 128 pages of information, plus pictures, diagrams, and layouts. . Each section (12 in all) gives the reader a good brief description on every subject that the new or old hobbyist needs to start back into Lionel Trains. The back of the book has 5 Appendixes, so you can find up-to-date information on; Lionel trains on-line, collector and operator clubs and associations, suppliers of equipment and accessories.     Good for a beginner, lots of practical advice, how-tos.

    Bought this book after I had gotten out my old Lionel train from 1959. I needed to know everything, since I had never hooked it up myself before and I now wanted to create a layout. This book has actual layout plans which are very helpful; even if you "customize" them, this book gives a good starting point.
