Harder than bone
I bought this Saddle for a Spanish classical guitar that already had a bone saddle and nut and had a great tone. I wanted to see if this Tusq saddle would make a difference. So on a whim, I bought it. Well it is denser than bone as it took quite a while to sand it thinner so that it would fit. And it was lighter than the bone saddle. I lowered it a bit but not too much. The tone is not much different but there is a noticeable increase in sustain. Also, the strings sound a bit brighter overall. The one bad thing is that because of the compensated cuts on the top, some of the strings are slightly sharp at the 12th fret now.
