    Specific Need

    This product met a specific need, one not usually encountered by an experienced bicycle repair person. Years ago, about 40 years I lost a few of the ball bearings while cleaning and repacking the hub. I could not tell how many steel bearing balls I had lost because these lie loose in the channel until the outer ring is tightened down. Was it two bearings, or three? I purchased this hub specifically to find out how many steel bearing balls the hub is supposed to have in it. But the best benefit of the purchase is the 14 - 18T gearing. Where I live the geography is mostly flat. So the 14 - 32T hub on the bicycle where I lost the steel bearing balls in the freewheel was not very useful.
