  • The drill I grab to get things done.

This drill combines power, size, ergonomics, comfort, and control, into a simple package. There is enough power to run a 1.25" wood boring bit through a joist (could do bigger, I just don't have a bit that big.) The drill's size and weight allow use one-handed in small areas. The drill features a backstrap that is good for traditional pistol grip, or European palm over motor grip (pressing trigger with ring finger.) The drill is comfortable enough to hold for the time it takes to drill through te remains of a broken bolt under the car. The trigger allows easy modulation of the speed. Other drills operate as thought the trigger is an on/off switch. The DW106 shows the accuracy of true variable speed. The cord frees you from worrying about batteries. Batteries are weak, heavy, expensive, ...

  • An excellent general purpose corded 3/8 drill

This drill has ample power and is light enough to handle without feeling like you're at a gym. Excellent choice for those times when you need more power than a cordless, or a continuous, even amount of power. Build quality is excellent, this drill feels sturdy and substantial. For my use, I preferred a chuck key to be able to more securely tighten the bits. The variable speed does go from zero to high speed quickly, with little in between. As a result, this drill is not intended for heavy, extended use at low rpms. Great product.

  • Truly great drill, at an excellent price

I have many different drills, most are too heavy, some are not variable speed. I found this drill to be lighter weight and easy to grip. It is sturdy and has become my drill of choice. The variable speed and ease of opening and closing the chuck made it my "go to" drill. I needed a reeplacement for another one I had, and until I fully rehab it, I needed the same model. I found it here at an amazingly low price in excellent condition.

  • No Better 3/8 in. Corded Drill...!

I have used this drill for years. There is no better drill and it has ample power for driving screws, boring wood and metal. Why DeWalt stopped making it I'll never know. It is also easy for the Do-it-Yourselfer to repair. I recently bought three more of them. Hopefully they will last me the rest of my life.

  • Ergonomically fit

We drill thousands of #11 holes for 3/16" rivets (building road cases) in my shop. This drill is light, ergonomically fits in my palm so I can key the trigger with my little finger (thereby reducing wrist pain), and they run cool. Of all the drills on the workbenches, the 106 is the one I grab on instinct. It may be my large hands, but this drill fits like a glove. My employees say the same thing: great hand fit and the push force is right in the web of the hand. I've worn out 4 of them over the years and they all put up a fight before they quit working.
