About this product

Product Information

Aion is a persistent world online RPG set in an ethereal environment where players can join either side of the antagonistic battle between angelic and demonic creatures. In addition to a classic struggle between good ("The Elyos") and evil ("The Asmodians"), gamers on both sides must also deal with a drangonlike server-controlled NPC faction known as The Balaur, which the developers included as a balance in the event one side becomes too powerful.

Aion runs on Crytek Studios' proprietary game engine, which allows the game to employ dynamic temperature and weather effects (including special weather-based attacks) and realistic environmental characteristics. As in most MMOs, characters can be drawn from a variety of different classes, and players grow and level up through combat, economic advances, and social interaction. Griefers beware though, as Aion servers record and track all player stats and actions, and the choices gamers make will impact the effectiveness of parties and guilds.

  • Aion, the most underhyped MMO on the market! 9/10!!!

Aion Is a great Pc MMO experience,as a veteran MMO player I'd have to say this has a mix of almost everything on the market.I've been playing this steady for about 6 months,Great graphics, nice animations,VERY good customization for everything and anything,Deep story, and tons of quests to keep you going. As of May 25th 2011 the game had a MAJOR makeover, making it even more enjoyable and fixing some of the flaws it has. overall "comparing to any other MMO" i'd have to give this a well deserved 9/10.

  • Better than most

I have a lot of issues with the other reviews being not true at all. This game is about a world and three factions. Asmodian, Elyos, and Balaur. In this game you get to be the hero and not someone on the sidelines like in World of Warcraft. This game is no way related to World of Warcraft. I've played both games and the graphics on Aion are superior to WoW and I consider these graphics to beat FFXIV which I played as well. FFXIV Graphics are all right but lack the animation and are laggy and also plain. In Aion you get to customize your character whichever way you want with options for every part of the body and face. No one will look the same. The customizations for characters are infinite. The gameplay fun and the animations genius. This game lacks the flaws that FFXIV and WoW have so I ...

  • Beware of bots!

So far I like the game, it actually pays to be a ranged character because enemies that don't have ranged attacks have to come up to you in order to attack you if you are attacking from a distance. I have heard however that in later areas when trying to grind mobs for quests that all the people who use bots beat you to your target. I have not experienced this myself, so if I do I'll update this review and let you guys know. The graphics aren't that great compared to FFXIV which is currently king in MMO graphics dept, in fact they reminded me of WoW graphics. Also the subscription cost is kinda high 14 or 15 a month, time card for this game can be found cheap, so use those and not paypal or CC if you want to play.

  • Amazing Graphics. Beautiful Game.

The game is themed like World of Warcraft in innumerable ways. But, one thing that stands out among all others, is the art of the game. Although I have a top notch computer, this games ultra settings graphics are far superior to the World of Warcraft graphics. For example, you can see your reflection as well as whatever is behind you in the water in the game. The creature are well thought out and the story line is very interactive. I recommend this for anyone with a taste for MMO's.

  • Too bad it has a monthly fee

I liked the idea, the graphics, and the gameplay. I bought the game purely for the GW /aion emote that came with the steel box set. The biggested downfall is that this game is late into the multiplayer world and charges a monthly fee beyond the high cost of the game intself. If you have the cash, you don't play an online multiplayer game, and you like the idea behind it, then by all means go for it and try it out. Otherwise you may find your money spent better elsewhere.
