    DL380 Performance vs dollars in 2016

    This is a good server for someone with a need to have a dual quad core cpu with the capability to have dual hex cores running at 3 ghz. The memory is fast and can run at 1333mhz. There are plenty of options in configuring the memory to be fault tolerant or dual channel/interleaved or whatever you neeb. It can support 192gb of ram and the ram can be found for as little as $1 a gb. The raid controller is excellent and can support raid 0 to 1+0. There are 8 drive bays, the caddys are cheap, the server also has sata as well as sas. The raid controller is battery backed and has 512mb of cache. This is a cheap option as the card battery and cable can be found for $15. CPU upgrades are cheap too as you can get quad core xeons that run at just under 3ghz for about $15 each.
