    Perfect !

    This is the best sized mold for any Pietta .44 cal revolver..454 shoots much more accurate then .451. The .457 is a bit much and will wear out your ram rod pivots after time. Use only pure soft lead. Gives you that nice full round shaved ring of lead when seating. Degrease the new mold with engine degreaser, rinse well, let fully dry, don't bother smoking it never made a difference to me with aluminum molds. Put tiny dab of wax on the sprue cutter hinge, wipe a little wax on the top surface under sprue plate and a touch on the alignment pins being careful to not get any in the cavities, drops perfect balls after 4 or 5 warm up pours every time. Easily cast 200 to 300 balls a hour, Perfection !

    Seems like a good deal

    After smoking the mold with wooden matches I immediately was casting good balls. I have never cast anything in my life before this. And after seeing how easy it is should have started years ago

    Carbon, clean, hot, slide the slag

    It dune real good. Once the heat is right on the metal and mold and directions are followed on carbon coating , and it's kept clean in the mold, it will turn out great round bullets. Remember to slide the slag off.

    Like most Lee products - made for people who use them.

    Like all Lee molds, this casts basically perfect balls every time. Using pure lead, they drop right at .454 every time, and you don't have to worry about the mold getting too hot or too cold once you develop a rhythm.
