    High Volume, But Beware!

I recommend this, but only to users who are experienced in bullet casting. These multi-cavity moulds can crank out a lot of bullets quickly, to be sure. BUT: you need to remember that all those cavities are a lot to juggle in an aluminum mould. To get this to throw good bullets, temperature management is crucial, and that's a skill that takes a little while to develop. If you know what you're doing, this is a fantastic mould. If you're just getting started in bullet casting, start out with a simpler one.

  • Switched (sort of) from Lyman steel

With all of the shortages on components I decided to cast .40 S&W which I had not before because FMJ or TMJ bullets were so plentiful and inexpensive. So, in comes the need for .40 molds. The first day casting, I cast nearly 3000, and over the next few days powder coated, and sized them. Loaded up a few hundred and went to the range... they're as good as any steel cast bullet I ever made. I've used steel dies (9mm .38/.357, .30-30, .35 and .45 ACP) for ~40 years these have opened my eyes. I find that they like to be run hotter than steel but no prob there. Try them, it's a small investment well worth the experiment. I'm not about to run out and sell my Lyman molds, but for sure, whenever I need a new caliber or different bullet style, I'll try the Lee 6 cavity molds first.

  • Should have bought this sooner!

Like all Lee bullet molds I have used this one cast perfect projectiles much faster then steel molds, and the extra 4 cavities let you produce so many more much quicker, I still don't know why I waited so long to buy a 6 hole mold!

  • It plain works... don't forget handles.

This works great! I knock a lot bullets with this mold.... Way cheaper for plinking than paying for jacketed bullets. I coat them with powdercoat. Resize them and away I go...
