It has a charcoal filter, this is normal. Bubbles once they disappear you’ll know the filer is ready to use.

    This is an undersink water filter and is a little pricey. Fortunately ebay always manages to have it for much less than buying it from a brick-and-mortar store, but I always take extra care to make sure it is an exact fit. So far I have had no problems with the replacements I have ordered and this current purchase went fine. It is in service and the water taste from the kitchen faucet is bright and pleasing.

    Exact fit...easy to change

    When I upgraded to an undersink filter several years ago, I chose one that allows for easy change out under my kitchen countertop because you have to work upside down and backwards. These filters are very easy to change out because I can reach it and remove it with one hand. The only thing extra I need to do is to lay a towel down to catch a little bit of water that comes out during the removal.. After flushing the line for about 3 min everthing is good to go and the sparkling appearance of the water in a glass makes it taste better according to my brain.
