Did not need to modify anything to install, very straight forward. Not sure why some people report needing to dremel their Maverick to make this work. The buttstock pad is pretty comfy, should have enough support, I have not shot it yet. I'm a pretty short guy and the OEM stock was too long for me. This Magpul at the shortest setting is about 2.5" shorter from stock so its much better to hold and rack.
