This book is AWESOME. Our authors got me hooked right from the start. The story is a wonderful, exciting, and suspenseful tale of solving a 2,000 year old riddle while many evil forces are in place to stop it from happening. The characters are very transparent and so willing to take up this cause without a second thought. We meet so many different people with different motives. Much research went into many different, foreign places that 2,000 years ago were sites in the bible. I truly enjoyed this book and found myself unable to put it down until the end. I look forward to more books by these 2 authors. I highly recommend this book for people who enjoy suspense and thriller stories that are part of Christian fiction. 5 Stars!!!, This book was "unputdownable" for me! From the moment I started reading, I was on the journey with Anna. I felt her successes and her losses. The story is well written and the characters seem real. The Epilogue was a thrilling point of expectation and promise for me! I recommend this to all readers. Groups will find discussion questions at the end with many other points of discussion throughout the book., Hairbreadth escapes, the deceptions of power-hungry church leaders, murders, even entry into the ancient holy of holies make for a riveting tale. Recommend to those who enjoy action-packed Christian fiction., As I started this book, I thought I was about to read yet another DaVinci Code knock-off. I did not enjoy The Davinci Code , so I was not looking forward to reading The Guardian. I am so glad that I did not let my initial reluctance keep me from reading this book! The story begins with Anna, an average college student from an average family, being told that she needs to go to her grandfather immediately. The one catch being that her grandfather died when she was six years old. From that moment, the reader is on notice that what you think you know means nothing in this new reality. The Guardian examines the premise that not only are the items and places mentioned in the Bible real, but they are still in existence on the earth. It reminds me a bit of The Librarian movies, with a little less kitsch and a lot more reverence. The well paced story quickly has you cheering on the good guys and holding your breath when the bad guys make progress. I was a little disappointed with the end of the story. I felt like it was just a set up for a sequel. Then I turned the page and found the epilogue. WOW! My dissatisfaction lifted in an instant, to be replaced with a genuine respect for the authors. My verdict: Read it! I would especially recommend this for teen girls, as Anna Riley''s transformation makes her an excellent role model., This book was "unputdownable" for me! Groups will find discussionquestions at the end with many other points of discussion throughout the book., The main characters are so lifelike the reader cheers them on during every step of the quest. The dialogue is natural; the settings are vivid; and, by the story's end, there is a good Christian lesson to be learned. I highly recommend this book for fans of adventure stories., "I haven't read a book front to back in a long time but The Guardian was one that I just couldn't put down! I knew Robbie Cheuvront was a very creative person from writing songs with him over the years. But as a Novelist, Robbie has, without a doubt, taken his craft to a whole new level!" - Richie McDonald, Former Lead Singer of BNA recording artists LoneStar, writer of multiple BillBoard #1 songs, and CMA and ACM award winner., "I haven't read a book front to back in a long time but The Guardian was one that I just couldn't put down! I loved how it incorporated all of the historical and biblical factors with a little bit of suspense and chase! I was able to learn something new about the bible and get completely engrossed in the story. It was fast paced and very easy to read. I thought it was beautifully written. The balance between description and action was key. I didn''t feel like I wanted to skip ahead because of a lot of boring details. I read every word and couldn''t put it down because I had to see what was going to happen next. Overall, it was a great story that had me smiling (with goosebumps) at the end. I was able to fall in love with Anna and Jason as well as the security team. (Without major spoilers, I was a little sad at some of the events-because I was so invested in the characters, I didn''t want to see anything bad happen to them) The character development was top notch as well as the story. In reading it, I began questioning my own faith. What would I have done in Anna''s situation? Would I have been too afraid to trust? I also liked how the author didn''t really talk about what happened to the "Pope"...he left it to interpretation. Usually, that sort of thing would annoy me, but in this case, I think it was beautifully done and everyone kind of figures out what happens. This would definitely be a novel I would recommend to my friends and family.
