Powerful and precise sanding machine capable of working with metal
I've wanted a bench sander for a while and after a recent experience day to forge a knife, I decided to get one to be able to clean up, shape and grind my high carbon steel knife from rough to finished. The included sanding disc and belt are very well balanced and provide excellent sanding of even the high carbon steel I am working on, despite being described as "woodworker" on the sticker/label. The motor has more than ample power to keep the disc and belt rotating even when pressing hard to hog off material. Changing out the belt is easy and just requires one screw to be removed and three to be loosened, all with a regular #2 philips screwdriver. The support tables are nice and rigid and are quite easy to set up. I used a mini set square to check the platform is mounted at 90 degrees ... The support tables are nice and rigid and are quite easy to set up. I used a mini set square to check the platform is mounted at 90 degrees and the angle scale pointer can be adjusted so that the pointer's point aligns exactly with the printed scale, so you can easily calibrate/tune the angle guide to be accurate and square. Working with high carbon steel produces a shower of hot sparks, but with the workpiece on/near the platform tables, these end up flying into the machine's waste trap/ducts effectively and get blown out the exhaust at the back. I clamped up the cloth dust bag (as directed in the instructions as part of assembly) and when I got to the hardened sections of my steel blade, the onslaught of hot sparks shooting out set the fabric dust bag on fire in a small patch. I had water in a little bucket nearby and easily put it out, and to be fair and clear here there is a warning that some materials including plastics can output hot waste material that can set the dust bag on fire, so this isn't so much a negative (as it should be common sense AND is warned in the instructions/labelling) but rather a heads-up to people wanting to use this for metal work.

This machine removes wood great, the rear dust exhaust helps With saw dust removal but only fits on one way.belt change is easy. The only miner gripe the disc face is out and will need to be flattened when i change the disc .Other than that I’m pleased with the performance.
