Great Smartwatch..good battery life
The one I bought was refurbished but looked new and once I downloaded "android wear" on my phone my phone recognized it immediately and it transferred the android wear to my watch. After that I went into settings (on the watch) and went to the "software update" and it took the latest lollipop update..and installed it. I only wanted this watch to do a few basic things ..such as voice text, weather, and traffic. It does all just fine and much more. It does have wireless but I dont use it..no need to with my 4g samsung galaxy 4 feeding it on a 4g network. Wireless and GPS should be turned off on this phone to save battery life. After a 12 hour day at work and giving it a workout I got home and it had 73% battery life left. Excellent as far as a smartwatch goes. The charging port is a micro usb and a bit cumbersome..but thats about all that I can gripe about. The screen is excellent..and the response screens on the watch are fast too. Overall..a very good smartwatch that uses "android wear".

Don't Buy It If You Swim
This watch has the highest IP rating that I've been able to find and Sony states that the watch can be worn in the pool or while swimming. I wore this watch for 3 weeks, swimming, running, working out, etc. After 3 weeks, the accelerometer stopped working, next the alerts, finally the battery. I called Sony/Xperia to have the watch repaired/replaced, but since it was purchased on eBay I was turned down. Now I have a Sony SmartWatch 3 paperweight. It's completely worthless after just 3 weeks.

An improvement over previous designs
I bought this to replace my Sony Smartwatch 2, which had a cracked screen. I still liked that watch, and simply wanted to repair it but could not find any service willing to work on it. I settled on replacing it, and tried to a Samsung Gear first, and found it to be too entrenched in Samsung's ecosystem. The Sony Smartwatch 3 (SW3), while not quite as user friendly as the SW2, retains most of the functionality that I liked about that watch, while offering several improvements. The gyroscope in the watch makes it possible to turn on the screen's backlight with just a flick of the wrist, so it is not necessary to "wake up" the watch to check the time. It also features some voice controls. I wouldn't necessarily use this feature, but it is good to have. As far as applications go, this use Google Wear OS rather than the proprietary OS used by previous Sony watches. While I am disappointed that some of those Sony applications for the SW2 cannot be used here, overall the change in operating system does not reduce the functionality. This can do everything the SW2 could and then some. My only complaint is that accessing a particular app can take a bit long, as there does not seem to be any way to customize the order of the apps, which was a handy feature on the SW2. I'll have to experiment more with the SW3 to see if I can customize it more, but for now, it seems more restrictive. Cosmetically, it's very nice looking, and I've received several compliments. I've heard mixed things about the long term viability of the band, but it's an improved design as far as I can tell, assuming that it holds up.On the whole, I like this watch, and unlike the Samsung Gear watch I tried, I will be keeping this one.

Learning to use it is key. Dial back alerts for great battery life. Fit is good. Watch face options are plentiful. Wish watchband options were as affordable and easy to find. Overall, I'm pleased with it.

Excellent watch and very useful
I love the watch and it is perfect for my activity level. Fits comfortably. Only issue is position of charging slot is in bad spot and I don't expect the rubber cover to last for very long. Other than that it is a great value. Have to charge daily.

Even though I prefer the look of a round watch, but I'm happy with my purchase since this watch has almost everything I need. I like that it has GPS, which is useful for my outdoor activities like jogging or biking. It's waterproof so I don't have to worry about accidentally drop it in the water. Since I'm prone to scratch or dink my watch on a daily basis, the rubber casing really did a good job keeping my watch from damages. One minor thing I don't like about the Sony Smartwatch 3 is the charging setup, it usually take longer than it should consider I have to charge this if not everyday, every other day. At least the battery is pretty decent for a smartwatch and their is no propriety charging cable so I can use any micro USB cable in the house, in the car and at work if needed. I hope Sony continue to make Android Wear smartwatches and give us the round watch options

Decent smart watch
Got this watch for my son so he can track his Type 1 Diabetes without having to pull out his phone all the time. Took a comfortable amount of work to get the watch up and running. All seems to be good so far. We have noticed that the watch does not seem to be having his activity for some reason. Can't seem to figure that out. Oh well. The other functions seem to be working just fine. Glad we didn't spend any more than we did.

Not the latest, not the prettiest, but still one of the best.
I love my SW3. It is waterproof (you can swim with it), has an industry-leading battery life (I get 2 days easily), and has a variety of features not found in most android wear watches (e.g., IP68 rating, GPS, WiFi, ability to store music and stream directly to BT headphones -- so you can go jogging, track your route, and listen to music -- all without a phone. You get email/SMS without a phone if you're connected to WiFi. I was able to get a display model for under $100. Sure, it's not the as elegant as some of the other watches, but if you value functionality over looks, this would be a good choice.

Easy to use and super cheap for how great it is
This watch does not have a mic so you can't play music, answer calls strictly through the watch, can't text, etc. BUT ITS SO GREAT!!! Good picture. Easy use. Notifications come through consistently. Easy to customize. I can keep my Bluetooth headphones connected all the time and answer calls through my watch and head phones. I tried a watch with the mic but I HATED HAVING TO SWITCH THROUGH MY BLUETOOTH DEVICES CONSTANTLY. The watch stays connected constantly, and effects nothing through Bluetooth.

The watch that renews itself
I got this watch years ago and it worked great. I used it for golf, alerts and ummmm time. When I got a new phone, I had trouble getting them to work together. Like any network admin, I found my answer on google and updated the firmware. OMG, it does things I never thought possible, read and answer texts, some control over my sound system, and many other surprises as if I had received and new product. If you're looking for a smart watch and use the android system, this is the one for you.
