    Seagate Hybrid

    My specs are: MB = Asus striker 2 extreme, CPU = Quad core Intel 2.8GH, RAM = 6GB DDR3 1333MHZ, Video Adapter = 2x ATI Radeon HD3870 Perhaps. Now about this Hard Drive.. Firs of all it’s small.. 2.5” so it is more likely to be used on laptops rather than desktops like I am doing. In measure of speed.. well it is a bit more fast than a normal Hard Drive, but just a bit.. I would recommend a solid state one instead of this.. I had both. So I know the difference. Also Windows 7 Ultimate ratings for the Hard Drive is 5.9, whilst the SSD I had was 7.1. You choose. I would go for this hybrid only instead of a normal Hard Drive but if you want speed than go for an SSD, and don’t buy cheap ones because you’ll get what you pay for!!

    A very worth while puchase 10/10

    I actually wanted an ssd but my Elonex Scaleo Media Centre was a little old and not having the functionality . However i purchased the Seagate made it my new primary drive and did a fresh install of Windows 7. It has improved the speed of my pc a great deal.I can run XBMC on the AEON MQ 4 heavy skin without sticking or lag time, which was just not possible before. All in all a worth while purchase for anyone in the same position.

    only buy if you want to boost your boot time. i saved about 1 minute!

    Basically not as good as I had hoped. Seemingly the SSD is only used for booting, I was hoping for more performance during normal operation but sadly not. Still at least its a quick big drive for laptops with Seagate's 5 year warranty so can't complain too much!

    get one, brilliant piece of kit before the jump to solid state.....

    I installed this hard drive into a Sony Vaio VGN-Nr38s, Which was previously running on a Seagate momentus 250gb (5400Rpm) Noticeable improvements on performance from the word go, this laptop was shipped with vista but I upgraded to 32bit windows 7 Pro, the momentus XT installed the OS platform in minutes, applications and general functionality of machine has been greatly improved. A good solution before the jump to Solid state technology due to the current price factor involved. Yes you could implement a low capacity SSD drive into a laptop and piggy back an external drive for all your media needs, but lets face it a lot of laptops out there are utilised for practicability, and its hardly practical to cart around a laptop and a large external hdd..... All in one with 500gb to ...
