I have only good things to say about this card
I use windows XP for recording and my board has firewire and is 24 bit and so does this card. Creative Sound has caught up not only with their drivers, but their software as well. Way to go Creative Labs! You can make and edit your own sound fonts for midi files with Creative Vienna SoundFont Studio. I own three of these cards they are my favorite. Thanks for listening. Audigy PCI Sound card
I purchased this for a 5 year old HP m1280n system. The on-board sound on my MB died and I needed an aftermarket card to install. I have had pretty good luck with Creative products previously. This was an expensive card with lots of features when it was first released. I was pleased with the price and prompt shipment. Installation was not complicated and loaded in without too much trouble. If you're looking for a decent aftermarket sound card for a home rebuild, I would recommend this one.I purchased this for a 5 year old HP m1280n system. Great pci soundcard, Recommended
My old card died so i went looking for a good pci soundcard so my surround sound speakers would work properly. All the new high end cards are pci express, im using my pci express slot for high end video card so not an option. This is a Great card and will run any speaker configuration that you have. compatible with xp, vista, and windows 7 too.

As good as Audigy 2.
You will never ever no matter what get your microphone to work in Win Vista or better with this, or Audigy 2, or Live!, and if you know exactly what to do, your X-Fi MAY work.. Good audio card, no microphone. X-Fi PCI-e will work, there is a FlexiJack that must be tweaked though.
