I recommend this game to dog-loving video game players everywhere. The point of this game is to raise your puppy for 3 weeks. After this, you unlock "Always Together Mode" which is a puppy free play. In the normal mode however, your job is to take care of and train your puppy. In the beginning, you choose what kind of dog you would like: Its gender (boy or girl), demeanor (energetic or relaxed), and its size (small or large). Then you watch a small cutscene and pick your puppy. If you don't like the breeds in the first shop, you can continuously switch between pet shops. After that, you can train your puppy any way you please. In "Always Together Mode", you can do what you want when you want. No events take place, no one is there to talk to, just you and your puppy. Everything is unlocked as well. However in this mode, you can't take walks. The_PokesonRead full review
My daughter bought this game and this is what she says about it: "I love this game! In the game, the first thing that you do is go to the Pet Shop/Adoption Center to pick your puppy. You can choose from the dogs that are already there or you can order them from a catalog. If you adopt one of the dogs that are currently there, you can view them (Put them in a room where you can pet them and call them) right away and then decide whether you want the dog or not. But, remember, the dogs that are currently there are of a certain sex/gender and you don't get to pick the sex, you just have to try to find the one that is the sex you want. However, if they don't have the dog you want, you can order one from a catalog. Using the catalog, you get to pick the breed, sex, and the color (some only come in one color). The breeds that are included are the Miniature Dachshund, Yorkshire Terrier, Chihuahua, Labrador Retriever, Toy Poodle, Shiba Inu, Welsh Corgi, Miniature Schnauzer, Shih Tzu, Border Collie, Pomeranian, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Golden Retriever, Maltese, Papillion, Beagle, Mix, and French Bulldog. The breeds are all cute. If you order from the catalog, you have to wait one week for the dog to arrive (which really is only a minute). Once it arrives, you can view it. Then if you want it, take it home. Once the puppy comes home, you have to teach him/her the name that you have given them (you get to pick the name of your dog). Once the dog has learned that, he will come whenever you call. You can teach your puppy many things. You have to teach it the name that you gave it and then you can start other training. The dog can 'sit' (after it has learned that you can teach it 'shake' and 'other paw'), 'lie down', 'go to bed', 'circle', 'sit up' (includes 'walk' and 'jump'), and 'roll over.' You can carry your dog too. You also have to teach the dog to use his/her potty so that they won't 'poo' in the house. For one week, you can't take your dog for walks because he/she needs shots. After that, you can take your dog for a walk, but you can only do this at 3 o'clock. You have to be back at home before dark. Also, in the game you can customize your character. You can pick a boy or girl, name them, and then change the clothing. But at the beginning of the game, you have to make sure that you pick the name and what gender you want as these cannot be changed later in the game. You cannot change the style of the kid's clothing, you can only change the color. You can enter competitions on Saturday and Sunday. There are two contests. One is held at the place where you purchased your puppy. Also, everyday you can visit there and purchase an item, but only one. The second contest is held in the park where you race against the clock. The one who completed the course in the least amount of time wins. You can make friends in this game too. You make friends by visiting people everyday for a few days and then the dogs become friends. And on Saturdays your mother will ask you if you want to have a party the next day. If you say yes, then all the friends that your dog has made will come to the party. But, you can only have parties when you have a certain amount of friends. On your walks, you can stop at the vets to see how your dog is doing. Your dog can get sick and distressed by too much stress which is caused by too much training so don't overdo it. There is more to this game. Overall, it is an awesome game!"Read full review
Perfect! It works with no problems and is just as described! Thank you for helping me re-live my nostalgic childhood game!

I bought this game for my 9 year old daughter. She will be writing this review in her own words. This game is really great. The first time I started playing it I loved it immediately. But that's just me, I'm a dog-lover. It is a virtual world where you can go to the park, take walks, go to competitions, and buy fun toys and all the stuff you might need for a real pet. You can also train your dog. But one of the best things is if you don't see a dog you would like at the pet store, you can tell the salesperson which one you would like and she will get it for you. If your child is a dog lover, you should get this game. It is really great!! But I will say that after I got this game, I got Nintendogs,(it comes in many versions) which I love even more because it has all this, plus more and the best thing is that the dogs seem real.Read full review
