    Here is what worked for me to demagnetize my mechanical watch that was previously running about 1 minute fast per day (it is now running within 1 second per day - YMMV): 1. Make sure that the watch is wound down (not running). 2. Place the watch face down on top of the device and press the button for 10 seconds. The device LED will light up. 3. While still holding the button, slowly lift the watch by the strap straight up and away from the device until it’s at least 18 inches above it.

    Works fine but expect the LED to blow if using 60hz

    Works fine, LED blew within seconds of use. Apparently 50hz LEDs don't last under 60hz. This device does a good job of magnetizing and demagnetizing small parts. Works really well with watch-related parts. Certainly worth what I paid.

    In three seconds...smoke

    I'm a horologist, and these are a necessity to have near by. I was simply in dire need of a demagnetizer quickly, for work that had to ship out asap. 3 seconds into using it, (for the first time) and it was literally up in smoke. I would have been thankful for a few good uses. Unfortunately I can not recommend this unit. Perhaps I was one of the unfortunates to get a bad model, who knows... simply put, you get what you pay for.

    Works great... until it doesn't

    Luckily, these things are dirt cheap. The first one I purchased worked for about a month then died. I used it 15-20 times and just purchased another (which works great so far). At this point, I only expect to use it a couple of times a year, so hopefully it will last. But these are very cheaply made (you get what you pay for).

    Sorry.. I am not impressed

    Bought 2 of these. One works kinda. The other does not work at all. I ended up purchasing a much better quality demagnetizer. Sorry maybe I am just unlucky.. but with 2 in hand and the issues I had.. I just cannot recommended these.

    Great Product!!!!

    I have successfully demagnetized two watches. Both required two passes. For the price this is a great tool and very efficient. There's no reason no t to have one somewhere near your bench!!!!
