This is a good projector and great for presentations. It is portable and easy to set up. However, if you are looking for a home theater experience, this is not be the best choice. The XGA (1024x768) resolution makes for an excellent picture but it's not widescreen-native. The early-generation DLP technology on this projector is dated and creates the "rainbow effect" for some viewers during fast-action scenes. Still, I've enjoyed the ability to bring the projector to my friends' homes for movie nights. It's definitely an upgrade over their small TVs. The brightness is good enough that I'm usually happy to leave it around 75% brightness, but you need to dim the lights and close the blinds if you really want to enjoy it. If you can afford one or wait until the prices drop, LCoS projectors are much better than a DLP projector like this. But with the price of good used DLP projectors in the $200-$300 range right now, it's hard to compete for the value. Pros: easy-to-use menu and adjustment controls small form-factor is easy to transport very lightweight good picture quality professional all-black IBM style easy connectivity Cons: not all DVI cables fit limited zoom lens adjustment not native widescreen DLP "rainbow effect" for some people fan is too loud relatively expensive bulbs compared to other projectorsRead full review
