    Excellent for nostalgic and contemporary Space fans

    This remake of the original Blacktron Invader is a worthy successor, streamlining an already sleek-looking predatory ship and upgrading it with modern bricks and building techniques. Blacktron came out during my "Space LEGO" heyday and quickly became one of my all-time favorite factions; that hasn't changed and I can honestly say that the 40580 has already become one of those ships that I had to have. This, combined with 2025's remade Blacktron Renegade, really, REALLY makes me hope that LEGO will do a FULL release (or even re-release) of all the Blacktron sets (or even some new ones). Thank you LEGO!

    An Out Of This World LEGO Set!

    For those who grew up with LEGO play sets in the late 1980’s, the new LEGO Icons Blacktron Cruiser (#40580) is a wonderful return to those days! I am a huge fan of the LEGO Space sets from the late 1980’s to the late 1990’s and was surprised to see this set, a promotional set released earlier this year. It was great to see the LEGO Galaxy Explorer last year and this set is a great companion to that set; I hope to see more classic LEGO Space sets in their Icons line further down the line.
