One would think Hollywood's idea of fame & fortune would be perceptive of wrecked lives rather than glossing over religiously with no god but self, that lives seldom turn out as fantasized 'Amercan dream' after failure in the 'bigs' music industry. Might as well tell how good life for the woman and man who's baby was aborted which they both wanted but politically correct, indoctrinated thoroughly sound communism, of Darwinian apostles so as to tell another set of deceptions and lies to a easily led public by their 'heroes' and ]heroines' who are the purveyors of such communist socialist hogwash. Cute story, entirely unbelievable in this real world in which we have to put up with such propaganda that the mainstream college/unversity profs are busily indoctrinating daily. Blu-ray....... NOT!
It may be a Blu-ray DVD but it's not Blu-ray quality. Not even DVD quality. Grainy picture and not even as good picture quality as the original release DVD. It has a non-standard menu system also. At first I thought that it was a hacked copy. Extremely disappointed that Tom Hanks would let this shoddy re-release come out with his name on it. Some of the director cuts should have stayed on the cutting room floor; they distracted from the wholesomeness of the overall movie experience.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Directors cut makes a great movie even better!
Much longer (add'l 39 mins) Directors Cut brings this Tom Hanks offering from a "G" rating almost to an "R" with more adult situations (sex and drugs and booze etc.) and probably what was actually occurring in 1964 America. Where the original theatrical release was edited be appropriate for all ages this Dir. Cut fleshes out characters. Charlize Theron's character seemed like an afterthought in the original plays larger now and even Guy Patterson's sister has more lines. If you like the original this version will surprise and impress even more without changing the feel-good nature of this movie.
