    Brother SX 4000 Typewriter

    For what it is (home use portable typewriter), this unit gives good service. It should not be compared with larger "office" grade or heavy-duty machines, which tends to produce a better end result. The only consideration of a negative with this machine is that Brother did not make a high quality daisy/print wheel for it as say, Smith Corona or Olivetti did for their electronic typewriters. The Brother wheels were made in various countries, attach differently to the print motor, and they do wear out. However, for what it was designed for, this portable typewriter can last many years in home and small office use.

    A good typerwriter for simple tasks and workload

    There was no typerwriter ribbon and corrective type spool was disconnected and almost entirely used. Other functions of the typerwriter work well such as typing keys and adjustments for spacing etc.

    Very nice printer

    This printer is good with: -correction (it hits each letter three times with the correction tape instead of once) -very quiet, compared to other older typewriters -very light, only 9 lbs if i remember correctly -solid, clicky keys This printer is bad with: -speed. much slower than my other typewriters, as the daisywheel seems to move very lethargically -replacing the ink. While it's doable, it's kindof a hard to reach spot -knowing what to do. This seems simple enough, but for every little function you want to do, you have to look it up in the owners manual because they keys aren't labeled aside from their letter Other than that, It's a great product and I encourage you to buy.
