  • Horatio's Drive

United States motoring history on DVD. A great, first-person narrative of the "pleasures" of driving in the very early 20th century from letters & photo's of the journey across the United States. A lesson in optimism, perseverance & plain hard work. Have to admire someone like Horatio, who took on the journey with little or no mechanical experience, little driving experience, little idea about how or where to go & ended up succeeding with "a little help from his friends". I did enjoy.

  • Surprise Untold Road Trip Story!!

Thanks to Ken Burns for producing a perfect Road Trip story. Absolutely Excellent! Never heard of this before...VERY surprising. After watching it from library copy, had to have our own copy. My sister's family felt the same. EVERYONE planning a "road trip" should watch this story.

  • Excellent Program

My comment about the quality of the dvd(used) still stands, and not sure how well it works. The program however is a very enjoyable and entertaining documentary about the early days of motoring or automobile travel. It sort of reminds a person of the 'Letters from Baghdad' program about Gertrude Bell in some ways.

  • Excellent documentary

Well done documentary about a turn-of-the-century automobile adventure. Fleshed out with letters to his wife, contemporary news accounts and photos, plus their own modern shots of places he passed through make this pretty riveting. We really enjoyed it.
