Lot of features for the price!
This little red dot has features that are very useful. Auto off and on and a superlong battery life are what sold me. About the battery....that is the only reason this did not get a resounding 5 stars. The little tray the battery resides in is somewhat of a pain to open and close. The screws securing the tray are RIDICULOUSLY small and awkward to get started (I actually had to use magnifying glasses). Fortunately, it will only have to be changed once every 3-4 years, lol. It’s good, but for a few dollars more you could purchase Sig Sauer Romeo 5, which is a better designed, easier to handle optic.
This optic gets great reviews, which is why I bought it. It’s good, but not great. The design isn’t as clean and easy to use as the Sig Sauer Romeo 5. Practically speaking, it's just as good as an Aimpoint.
I can't tell any difference between this and my Aimpoint PRO besides it being 1/4 the price and weight. The technology is also better. Holosun optics have held up extremely well in the industry. Their durability may not be as legendary (time will tell) but for civilian use it's more than adequate. No need to buy an Aimpoint for stateside use anymore. I started buying these when they were in the high $200 range. Now they're less than $150! I guess I've owned eight over the past several years. The 'shake awake' function truly gives you 50,000 hours of battery life. Well over five years worth! Don't waste hard earned money on any other red dot. Solid as a rock, clear as crystal
Simple operation, clearly worded user manual, solid as a rock. I swapped out the mount to the (included) lower profile one and this decreased the amount of triangulation error that is a function of target distance.
