Turns out,you need to long press the switch for three seconds or so and the light comes on. The color changing is slow gradient,so you can enjoy each beautiful color. I'm very happy with these awesome lights! 👍

Having said that the solar panel has a divot on it probably because it was not in bubble wrapped like the lamp was. Terrible packaging!!!! It does work and hopefully it continues to work for some time. Oh yeah, instructions are incredible terrible! Misspelled words, sections referencing other sections that do not exit, missing or wrong verbs/nouns.
