Topeak MTX Rear Rack Mount Basket Fail
I like Topeak Racks and Bags but was very disappointed with the basket. The handle flops around and has nothing besides thin metal for holding the basket. One might think they would have used a better system like an ergonomic hand grip. Your seat needs to be jacked up in the air about a foot or more to clear the basket. My bike stand over height is perfect and my seat is about 7" up but there is no way a properly fitted bike is going to accommodate this poorly designed basket. I still need a basket, so I'm considering taking this to a welding shop to have a better handle made and having the basket cut to the appropriate size. DON'T BUY IT!
DON'T BUY THIS! It doesn't actually "lock" onto the rack, it has a silly little plastic hook that sort of hangs on to it, but as soon as you move the bike, it starts swaying around. Very poor design.
The basket slides to far forward to latch not allowing enough room for the saddle. In order to latch you must raise the saddle so high you can’t set on the bike. It was necessary to slide the basket rearward and secure to bike rack with zip ties. Very poor design.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
