this icemaker works great. I should have got one of these a long time ago. The replacement wire didn't fit but I just used the old one. Be sure and put the spongy part of the sensor next to the ice cube tray when you clip it in. Installed the ice maker on Saturday evening which was November 3rd. It is now Monday evening which is November 5th. The ice maker has yet to do anything. So this is why I rated it the way I did, I'm not sure what to do next, there was no instructions with it. Any ideas of what might be wrong, or does it take 3 or 4 days for it to start cycling? This unit is the exact replacement for my Kenmore refrigerator. Works perfectly, made me realize the original unit was working poorly for a long time before it quit. Very good as a replacement ice maker (not as new)
This was a replacement for my old ice maker. It does what is supposed to do. No complaints. Be aware that this can ONLY come as a replacement for a used ice maker, since you will have to move some parts from the old one to this one so that it works: the wire cable, the bottom bracket and screws, the side cover and the empty/full arm. This is a fairly easy work, but don't throw your old one until you get this new one because you will need the parts. Great Genuine OEM Replacement BUT Save the Old Wire Bar and 'End Cap'!!
As Advertised, BUT REMEMBER that you'll need to have the thin wire on/off 'bar' and the end-cap from the OLD unit! I also used the old wiring harness (it comes with a new wiring unit) as it was a faster install for me that way! I 'Bit the Bullet' and paid the $20 extra for this Genuine OEM Part, vs some of the cheaper units out there that had poor reviews/performance/life.. It's GOOD to have ICE again!!
