    Adorable Hobbit set, evokes the film

    Re adult collecting, IMO this, like all the Lego Hobbit sets, is attractive, clever, engaging to build, and terrific film memorabilia. Standouts IMO are the too cute and well-designed Oin and Gloin figures, as well as the rather unique elf who has obviously had a good time in Thranduil's cellars! It's an attractive and charming set, but knocked off a star as an adult collector, IMO this set was crying for some sort of base plate to sort of tie all the little details together - basically you have built little components of the scene that just sort of sit there. And I felt this set was screaming for MORE - more barrels, a whole wine rack, and so forth. So of course solve the problem by getting 2 sets. I just thought that LEGO could have done a bit more - that said, IMO loaded with charm and ...
