Hard To Catagorize But Wonderful
Lee Michaels is/ was an anomaly -a keyboard wizard covering Blue Eyed-Soul, R & B, Blues & Rock'n Roll with ease, hitting a high point with this LP - and then fading from view. Go Figure. I've always loved this LP - Be assured that this is a package deal - no filler - all killer. The Gospel tinged "Keep The Circle Turning" with soulful vocals by Lee and Merry Clayton fills the room with a joyful celebration of life. The top 40 hit "Do You Know What I Mean" is only frosting on the cake. Lee also covers some R & B standards with abandon - and I do mean Abandon... "Can I Get A Witness" &" Willie & The Hand Jive" are given new life.......It's a wild ride...with some quiet relief with the introspective "Oak Fire" and "Didn't Have To Happen" ....Lee is on fire - the definition of a wild man - his organ, piano and harpsichord ruling the day. This reissue features superb sonics - nice packaging and original LP artwork - I recommend this to all - it's all pure fun.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
