Diluted. Mediocre quality
I tried this Puritan's Pride Melatonin 10mg as replacement of a previous brand I used to take (5mg dosage). The older (5mg) was definitely stronger and more effective than the 10mg of this brand. Now I need to take two pills of this product (20 mg in total) to get the same effect of the 5mg pill of the previous brand. Therefore I cannot recommend this product. Thank you

Excellent Sleep Aid!... But 10mg may be far too strong for some people.. Be careful!
I bought the 10mg dose version of these. They did make me good and drowsy, but after a few nights of taking them I had a reaction mirroring symptoms of excess melatonin... My skin got itchy at first. Then, one night my lips and arms swelled up in what resembled an allergic reaction... I looked up melatonin and these symptoms and found it to be a common sign for too much melatonin in the system which can cause a bad immune system overreaction. I cut the dose back to 5mg after that and stopped taking it every night, changing to every other night... So far so good... no itch.... no immune reaction... and plenty of sleepy feeling! Don't be like me all gung ho and so desperate for sleep that you go right for max dose!... Read up on what too much melatonin can do to you and start with a MUCH ... It has definitely helped w/ sleep! Cannot believe it. Did Not Rate 5 only out of concern, why? - It states take for 3 wks. Then stop for 1 wk.. Then continue & that is what is concerning. I’ve ENJOYED THE SOLID SLEEP so very much, so, off for 1 week has me concerned that I won’t sleep. AS FOR THIS P. PRIDE PRODUCT (?), PROVEN GREAT, to date. My Doc knows I prefer “natural” over any "Man Made". Said- DOC suggested this! 1st Natural Product he EVER suggested. He states many patients are stating Melatonin to be proving helpful. Best melatonin for the money
I've tried many, many different brands of melatonin to help me sleep. Having a medical problem that makes sleep hard to come by & already requiring a good number of prescription medications I all but refused to take another prescription to help me sleep. Being a nurse I was aware of the fact that your body naturally produces melatonin & I felt this was the best & safest way to help my body wind down & get some much needed sleep. This particular brand is in capsule form & is easy to swallow. Because of the way it is released it helps you get to sleep relatively fast & then stay asleep. Some brands would help me fall asleep, but within an hour or two I was wide awake again, while other brands would take an hour or more to start working & then would still wear off after a short period of ... I've tried many, many different brands of melatonin to help me sleep. If you've taken melatonin for a while & are not getting the sleep you need then this brand might just be the answer. It's much, much safer than the prescription sleep medications out there & doesn't have the side effects that can occur (sleep walking, eating while asleep & many other scary & unsafe effects). It comes in a dark blue bottle so that it's not broken down by light & has an easy flip top. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
