    Pelican 1620 lightweight storage with great features

    Part of my Hurricane Season prep is to have Watertight cases on hand for storing as many items as possible in case of flooding or other water events. I currently have 22 Watertight cases in my Conex Container with the vast majority of them consisting of Surplus Military Pelican (Hardigg) cases. The last two I purchased were the Pelican 1620 and in the case of these I found units that did not contain foam, which if you have ever purchased one of these types of storage cases you will know first-hand how hard it can be to remove the glued in foam. Since I had the opportunity to buy two of the 1620s without foam, I pulled the trigger. I have no regrets and if I decide I need any additional Watertight cases I will purchase more Pelican (Hardigg). Definitely watch for deals, they can be ...

    Pelican Cases are All I Use

    I'm a camera operator/grip person. I use Pelican cases exclusively. I LOVE the 1620 & 1650. They are tough & functional. I've got 5 Peli cases ranging from the 1650 down to the little hand-bag size IM series. I recommend them highly.

    These are great Cases but heavy watch you toes

    I have almost a dozen pelican cases and I think they are great. This is the first large one I've bought in over 10 years. The old one is still great too. They are heavy full and can hurt a toe or knee if you bump it. I save the foam if I don't use it right way. Great for stacking.

    Comparing to an older Pelican

    I have an older Pelican Case same length and width but not as deep as the 1620. I also have a longer and wider Pelican that’s not as deep. I noticed the top lid on this 1620 is t as thick or stiff as those two cases. I am not sure about the sides and bottom . Also the handles are smaller in diameter and not rubberized for grip. I did not compare spec for spec like the wheel and axle quality. There seems to be some small things of slightly lesser quality made for these . I’d still buy again and love the extra depth
