    "A Delightful DVD with a Bonus: Anthony Newley!"

    Filmed on location in CinemaScope and Technicolor in Trinidad and Tobago, Columbia's 1957 Warwick Film Production, "Fire Down Below" is about two friends, Felix (ROBERT MITCHUM) and Tony (JACK LEMMON) who do odd jobs on their boat, the "Ruby", along with Jimmy Jean (EDRIC CONNOR). The two chums soon begin to bicker with each other when both fall in love with beautiful Irena (RITA HAYWORTH). The film is very enjoyable with lovely Calypso music, such as "Limbo Like Me" sung at the front credits (where the year 1957 in Roman numerals, MCMLVII, is texted mistakenly as "MDCCCCLVII") superimposed over a captivating Limbo Dance by "Stretch" Cox and his Troupe. Jeri Southern performs the euphonious title song. My favourite part of "Fire Down Below" is when the then 26-year-old Anthony Newley ...

    Exciting movie!

    I caught about 30 minutes of this movie while I was on vacation. It was a really good movie. When I returned from vacation, I looked up the main characters and was able to find the title. Amazon had at a great price so I purchased it. My wife and I watched it together one evening. Glad I have the DVD to share with friends.
