Work just fine for stock tank
Barley "bales" help keep my llamas' water tank clean. You used to find smaller bales for sale; which worked just fine for a 125 gal tank. Can't find them so I've settled for these 10" ones. Took them a long time to get here, but they're working fine. Last year I gave one to my neighbor for her small fishpond; she is pleased as well. .

Used this product for years to stop and eliminate algae bloom. It does sink to the bottom of the pond so I stuff a single bale into a large hamster run about bowl, add eight corks (wine bottle type) for buoyancy and place into my 800 gallon pond. Lasts all season in MI.

The best to clear up a pond
I have used barley straw bags and they clean up a pond real fast as long as the water is flowing over the barley bags. The cons is that they should come with a strong string to attached they to something that is stationary.

Keeps water clear all summer.

I swear by this product. I have a very large pond and do not like using chemicals such as algaecide. This helps limit string algae. Very important to replace the bales on a regular basis. I place new bales in the pond...along with the old bales....prior to the old bales being used up. I find it best to use a bit more than the specs call for. Every pond is different.

Best product for clear water and reduction of algae
Awesome product for pond build up and algae. I have an ultra violet light filter and other items can clog it up, this product allows waste to naturally digest eliminating a large amount needing to be filtered. The water is crystal clear and I have five 12 inch red eared sliders that are very messy. I can go 3 months between filter changes that should happen every month with this product and the water is so clear I can see the bottom of the pond like it was 1 inch deep and its 3 feet. NO chemicals and easy to use.

Barley straw bales prevent string algae growth
These Barley straw bales work great to prevent the growth of string algae, they last 5 -6 months so I end up using 2 for the whole years prevention. We used to get the string algae growth by April each year, it is now May and not signs of the Algae, all the other plants in the pond are growing great and the fish healthy and see happy.
