    Too Much of a Good Thing

    This is one of four "neu-Traveller" books I've purchased, and my least favorite. Basically, it is clutter. A lot of unnecessary rules that just complicate things, rules that actually make the Traveller's life MORE lethal (as if they don't have enough problems already), just... too much minutia. And a great deal of it totally changes the whole flavor of the game. If you're old enough to remember "Zebulon's Guide to Frontier space" for Star Frontiers, or the "Wilderness/Dungeoneer's Survival Guide" for AD&D, you might understand. Just plain too much. They say the book is a "toolbox," but there's sure not many tools I'd pull out. The best thing about the Traveller Companion is a fairly large number of alien organisms listings. That's always good.     Great Companion to Mongooses 2nd Edition Traveller

    I love how this book has info for alternate character generation, a new race, some useful changes to some skills, and even how to use the UWP. This book is well worth getting, as it enhances the Traveller experience.
