Seller was nice enough to work out a deal with me. Item received as described but the packaging could have been a tad better for a $100+ item. It was loose in a box with a single sheet of bubble wrap loosely around it. There was a puncture in the box where one of the axles broke through. Item seems to be in good shape but still would have liked to see a tad more care taken with the packing.

Simple and Powerful
If you like the idea of Car like push button presets and PPL (No frequency drifting) you will really like this little radio. Easy to set up, Once you do, no more searching for the right frequency of the radio station you were looking for. The size is so small and handy I find I'll take it with me more of the time. Good battery life and amazing sound for such a small package. RF sensitivity is really good with no cross talk. When it comes to a portable radio Sony is still the one to beat. I bought this radio and I was counting the days until I opened the box an hour ago ! disappointed by all meanings ! ...cheap bad product , I can't even believe Sony will put its name on it ....bad sound and receiving ! I will return it ,,,,what a waste of money and time !

Excellent compact radio.
Excellent compact radio with very good sound for it's size. Sensitivity in both AM and FM is excellent. If you are in the Americas, you need to change the tuning step from 9 kHz to 10 kHz. The instructions are in the owners manual, it is simple to do. The radio will then receive all stations properly. I believe this has a 4 inch internal ferrite rod antenna for unusually good AM reception for a compact. Simply turn the radio to face the radio stations transmitter to maximize reception (as is the case for all portable radios). Extend rod antenna for better FM reception if necessary. Does not auto scan for stations. Displays time in military 24 hour format. Worth every penny. I bought two, might buy three.Excellent compact radio with very good sound for it's size.
