Reviews
As beautiful as Hawaii itself, This novel approaches epic magnitude. The narrator is Hiram Nihoa, through whom the author pours his love for Hawaii. Nihoa tells the story of his travels around the island of Oahu a century ago, evoking the scene and the people as he saw and loved them. Nihoa's narrative is taken up by a strange New Englander in the second half of the book. Saul Bristol, a sad and bitter man, reveals Hawaii through the eyes of a newcomer. The two narratives embody the conflict between the old and the new which has had so much to do with the way Hawaii has developed.... In some ways ... a lament, but overall a mele aloha, a song of love.

- 7***w (296)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseBubble wrap and expedite shipping, ordered August 7 received August 9. Described as "USE" but in my decision, PERFECT and well worth the price. Excellent customer communication and great service.
- 3***k (703)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchasePurchasing from FSFPL (Friends of the San Francisco Public Library) is a true pleasure. Too often, books purchased from other used book sellers on eBay get tossed into bubble or poly mailers, making it questionable if you even receive your entire order, or if a book has ripped open the package and gotten lost in transit, or receiving books damaged in transit - even the wrong book altogether. When ordering from FSFPL, I receive exactly what I purchased, in the exact condition described. Thank you

I also contacted the seller before the purchase, and I received a very fast response that clearly answered my question.
