About this product

Product Information

J. M. Coetzee, one of the greatest living writers in the English language, has crafted a deeply moving tale of love and mortality in his new book, "Slow Man," When photographer Paul Rayment loses his leg in a bicycle accident, he is forced to reexamine how he has lived his life. Through Pauls story, Coetzee addresses questions that define us all: What does it mean to do good? What in our lives is ultimately meaningful? How do we define the place we call home? In his clear and uncompromising voice, Coetzee struggles with these issues and offers a story that will dazzle the reader on every page.

Item as advertised, but charged full shipping on three items, no combined shipping, shipped in one box. Not how I would choose to do business in hopes of repeat business.

You made the bid January 9th.and made the payment immediately after the auction closed on January 9th. Most, if not all, send the seller an invoice, for combined shipping. This alleviates the overbilling on shipping. I wanted very much to fix this, but you did not give me any opportunity.

About 6 months ago my daughter emailed me a list of the 1001 books one should read before one dies. There were quite a few titles by J. M. Coetzee and since I hadn't read one of them, I decided to buy this book and give the author a try. I enjoyed it. The writing was neat, in the sense of 'scotch, neat'. But should I have only 1000 books more to read before I die, I wouldn't have chosen this one. The story or characters did not afford me the same, think it over, ponder, wonder, life changing experience I think a book rated that highly, should. But I am going to try another by the same author, just to be sure.
