About this product

Product Information

The Igloo iceless thermoelectric cooler keeps food and drinks cool without the inconvenience and mess of ice. With a 28-quart capacity, this cooler will hold up to 40 beverage cans. It plugs into a standard 12-volt cigarette lighter outlet. The brushless motor and convection cooling keep products cooled to 36 degrees below the outside temperature. The cooler weighs 10 pounds and is made of plastic with a polypropylene liner. It features both a bail handle and side handles.

    It underperformed claims.... Thankfully

    It may sound odd to be glad a product didn't meet it's claimed performance, but the Igloo claims it lowers internal temperatures 36 degrees below ambient temperatures. In an air conditioned car with temperature set at 68 degrees, that would lower the internal temperature to 32 degrees - and freeze the contents. We worried about that, since we used it to hold drinks and insulin on a long car trip (12 days, 5500 miles) and didn't want to freeze the drinks and, certainly not the insulin. At first we checked the contents at each pit stop, but gave that up after the second day. The contents were definitely chilled, but never close to freezing (didn't have a thermometer inside the cooler). In fact, it worked perfectly for our needs and I'd recommend it to anyone not hoping to store ice ...

    NOT a COOL BOX!!!

    The instructions say "this does not actually make objects cold or hot" You must place cold objects into the cooler and it will try to maintain it!!! TRY!!! this is the worst product if i ever bought one for that kind of money.

    easy to use light and looks and works good

    I have not used it yet , I have made a solar panel and solar system to run it day any night (off a car battery at night) to use for camping this summer , during a 48 hour test it did very well , keeps things in to very cold , just like you had ice in it

    Saves on endlessly buying ice, works great

    Been using this a month in our trailer and it works fine. It is colder than I expected and better than endlessly buying ice. We did have to buy a wall plug from Igloo separately. Still a value. I tested it with milk: plugged in it kept fresh 4-5 days. I don't pre-cool drinks unless I want them that day. If drinks are room temperature they are cold in the cooler by the next morning. I plan to use this in the car with the cigarette lighter as well as in hotel rooms. Added after using 2 months: I am in love with this cooler! If it had come with an adapter plug I'd have rated it 5 stars. I've used it daily for a month.

    Awesome cooler

    I'm a trucker so i wanted to test the product for a few weeks before giving my review. Is a must have if you're on the road and want to save on ice. It pays by it self with the savings on not having to buy ice every day. On a truck with APU, like the one i drive,you can just leave plug continously. Won't drain your battery cause the APU will start by it self to keep it chage. I got the 28 quart one and is awesome cause it fits between my seats.i can fit 6 cans of soda,6 water bottles,lettuce,tomato,broccoli, mushrooms ham and cheese and it keeps them just right if you keep the ac on and doesn't get hit by sun.after 2 weeks of continously having it plugged you have to unplug it for at least 1 hr cause the metal inside it freezes up but other than that great product. definitely recommend
