I have 3 kids, 8,6 and 3, so I thought this game would be great for the younger ones. The older two played it a few times but maxed out its potenetial quickly. The youngest played as long as I'd let her when we first got it, but now that we've had it a while she gets bored much more quickly. It is a great game for her to learn how to make the controller work. There is no strategy, the most fun in this game is the discovery of the many possibilities... But once you've done everything in the game a few times its less fun because its the exact same every time. As far as educational qualities, it teaches cause and effect, and following a series of steps or directions. She can bake & decorate a cake, cook breakfast (eggs, pancakes, and bacon)on a grill (be careful not to burn it!) and follow simple recipes (Mickey says it and then offers reminders of what else is needed, rather than needing to read), as well as other things like popping popcorn, cooking a frozen pizza, scooping a bowl of ice cream, making soup, etc. Eash task has a series of steps involved. For instance, to make popcorn she must open the cupboard, get out the popcorn kernels, fill the popper w/ kernels, put them away, close the cupboard, get a bowl from another cupboard, and then start the popper to fill a bowl with popcorn. It doesn't have to be in any particular order, but forgetting the bowl means popcorn flies all over the room, and forgetting to close the cupboard means she can't do any other tasks until its closed. In the end, the snacks and meals created can be served to Mickey & Minnie. The music is very annoying, playing the same short tune over and over, but we discovered it can be shut off by clicking on the radio. Overall, its quite cute and appropriate for very young players, probably age 3 to 5.Read full review
I LIKE THIS GAME BECAUSE IT TEACHES YOUNG CHILDREN A FUN WAY TO LEARN TO COOK. IT HAS A VERY COLORFUL INTERACTIVE KITCHEN THAT WILL HOLD THEIR ATTENTION FOR HOURS OF FUN. MICKEY AND MINNIE EVEN STOPS BY TO TASTE THE FOOD YOU CREATE. THE APPLIANCES IN THE KITCHEN REALLY WORK. YOU CAN OPEN THE REFRIDGERATOR AND PICK DIFFERENT FOODS TO COOK. THE KITCHEN HAS A WORKING MICROWAVE, GARBAGE DISPOSAL, SINK, RADIO, YOU CAN ADJUST THE FLAME ON THE STOVE, A WORKING OVEN, GRIDDLE, YOU CAN BAKE CAKES AND DECORATE IT, A WORKING TELEPHONE TO CALL MICKEY OR MINNIE, AND LOT'S OF OTHER GREAT FEATURES. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO CHILDREN 4 AND UP.
It's an old game so it's good for Its time, and perfect for younger kids. Nostalgic for me as well. (Though I had the pc version as a kid but still just as good)

This game is fun for young kids that like to play in the kitchen and do games o the computer. They need to be very used to using the mouse, as most of the way they are able to manipulate items on the screen is in the point and click method. There is alot of variations they can do and the creativity is fun to watch. The only downside is learning all the variables that can be accsessed, and the click and drag deal for younger users, otherwise this is a great game!
I bought the game for my grandchildren. We once had the PC game but the disk broke. I was very happy to see it as a video game. The children love this game and wait their turn to cook and bake. Each child has their favorite thing to do, some love baking cakes and decorating them, others love washing dishes and mopping the floors (don't we all wish we could click on a mop and the whole kitchen would clean itself). My granddaughter loves to water the little window garden and watch the flowers grow and bloom. This isn't just for little girls, the little boys love it too!
