I had one of this machine already, purchased about 16 years ago, and have used it daily since I got it. Little did I know a good friend had been coveting it all along. When she casually mentioned she wished she had one one day, I decided to try and find one for her. I ordered this one, set it up & tested it, and surprised her with it. She is thrilled! It works just like mine. The machine is robust and works exactly as it should. Users unfamiliar with it may be impatient for the green 'ready for use' button to light up. This can take from 1 to about 3 minutes. Also, the tank should never be allowed to run out of water. Priming the water tubing after it has dried out or filled with air takes some time and patience. I recommend using filtered water over tap water, to reduce the need to descale the machine. If the water tank does run dry, fill it to the fill line, and then let it sit for at least an hour. Press the on button, and once the green 'ready' light comes on, press the steam button (bottom right), and then turn the steam knob on. Let it run for a minute or two. If steam followed by some water doesn't come out, give the pump a break by turning it off for a few minutes and then retry. Repeat several times if necessary, leaving a rest in between to give the pump a break. With some coaxing, the tubing should refill with water and then work like a dream. This machine makes a beautiful cup of coffee, and will last a very, very long time if properly cared for.Read full review
