So, the day has come and my GH5 grip has arrived from eBay. This is replacement grip from third party company called “DSTE” and cost me 49$ (free shipping). Arrived from China to Israel in 3 weeks. The package includes: Grip, remote controller and user manual. The grip, although it is made completely out of rubber and plastic, still feels good enough to leave you a premium feeling. All buttons and dials work rock solid. Battery fits tight. Overall feeling is very nice as the build quality is very high, not cheap plastic (similar to GH5 body pattern). When screwed on the camera the grip is not loose at all and fits it very tight. Oh and almost forgot to mention, there is also On/Off switch on the grip. Overall score I would give it is 9/10 compared to the original grip. Would rate 10 if it ... So, the day has come and my GH5 grip has arrived from eBay. excellent alternative to OEM
The fit and finish of this unit is really good. I can't imagine the OEM product being much, if any, better. Why Panasonic charges the crazy price they do is hard to comprehend, but I think the DSTE unit price is far more in line with reality.
